YSCPC Council Members
President: Dabria Peta-Dragos
Hello everyone! My name is Dabria Peta-Dragos (she/her), and I am honored to serve as your re-elected YSCPC President for the upcoming year! As a Grade 12 student in the French Immersion and Advanced Placement Programs at St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS, I bring my passion, leadership experience and a strong commitment to working with students, educators and community leaders to improve our schools and community! Outside of school, I’m involved in the community as a swim instructor, lifeguard and volunteer, supporting children, seniors and those in need. My vision this year is to strengthen unity, foster collaboration and build connections across our schools. Feel free to reach out to exchange ideas or simply for a chat!
Vice President #1: Sabina (Sumin) Kim
Hello everyone! My name is Sabina (Sumin) Kim (she/her), and I am beyond excited to be this year’s 1st Vice President of YSCPC!
I am a grade 12 AP student at Sacred Heart, where I hold the position of President on Student Council and dedicate my time to extracurriculars, such as concert band and a Korean club called KAVE. I also enjoy dancing and exploring new places.
As last year’s Secretary, I’ve learned to use my voice to amplify other people’s opinions. I am honoured to work alongside such influential student leaders this year, and I plan on helping create a welcoming YSCPC environment!
Vice President #2: Angela Zhao
Hey everyone! My name is Angela (she/her) and I am a Grade 12 student at St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School. I am very excited and honored to serve as your second vice president this year!
I am a passionate student leader that advocates for student voices as I am involved in many school initiatives that transform possibilities into realities. Through my role, I hope to further pursue this year’s goal of uniting all YCDSB high schools by creating more opportunities for collaboration. I look forward to contributing to the success of all our events and leaving a lasting impact within our school board. Feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas!
Secretary: Samarah Rizvi
Hi everyone! My name is Samarah Rizvi (she/her) and I’m so excited to be your YSCPC Secretary this year. I am a Grade 11 AP student at St. Joan of Arc CHS. I am passionate about being a Student Leader and working to improve our communities, as well as meeting other students from various schools and diverse backgrounds with the same goals. I love being involved in my community as Grade 11 VP of my school’s Student Council and as part of my school’s Health Club and FEM Club. I’m honoured to be a part of this incredible team and looking forward to a great year!
Director of Community Relations: Melina Danesh
Hey everyone! My name is Melina Danesh (she/her), and I’m a grade 11 student at St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS. As YSCPC’s Director of Community Relations, I aim to plan events that address environmental and social issues in our community, working alongside an amazing council to bring those events to life. I also strive to strengthen our spiritual connection by encouraging reflection and gratitude, which I practice in my daily life. Some of my hobbies include yoga, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends. You can also find me working as an assistant teacher at Spirit of Math.
I’m excited to work together to make a lasting difference—because teamwork makes the dream work!
Director of Communications: Steven Kim
Hi everyone! My name is Steven Kim (he/him) and I am currently a grade 12 AP student at St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School. I’m thrilled to serve as your Director of Communications this year. This year holds lots of fun: I’ll be filming promotional videos at each event YSCPC hosts and attends, as well as designing creative social media posts to announce important events and meetings!
Besides YSCPC, you can find me scuttling around at business conferences, struggling to solve the New York Times daily sudoku, or sifting through clothing at my local thrift store. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone!
Treasurer: Alina Du
Hi everyone! I am Alina Du (she/her), a grade 12 IB student from St. Robert Catholic High School. I am beyond excited to serve as the treasurer this year. I plan to bring forth more events promoting inclusivity and connections among all YCDSB students. Outside of school, I love In my spare time, I love to go cafe hopping with friends, and go on long hikes and city walks! I am also an avid bubble tea drinker, feel free to drop some recs 🙂 I look forward to an amazing year at YSCPC and all the fun events we will host!
Indigenous Student Representative: Isaac Aide
Hello Everyone! My name is Isaac Aide (He/Him). I am a Grade 11 student at Saint Theresa Of Lisieux CHS, and I am beyond excited and ready to take on the role as the Indigenous Student Representative for the YCDSB!
My position allows me to connect with so many wonderful people every single day, and I always end up making very special friendships and bonds with others through the YCDSB. Outside of school, I really enjoy dirtbiking and rugby during warm weather, and when things get chilly that’s when I pull out my board! I can’t wait to see what this year has to bring for the YCDSB, and I am so proud that I get to be an involved part in it.

Hey there! My name is Monica Galstyan (she/her) and I am a grade 12 student at Our Lady Queen of the World CA who is honoured and excited to take on the role of your Senior Student Trustee at the YCDSB!
As I begin my second term in this role, I continue to admire and congratulate the undying passion of our diverse community. The nature of my role provides me with the invaluable opportunity to interact with each of you (arguably the best part), so please never hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or my personal favourite, for a pleasurable chat.

As a Grade 11 student at St. Robert CHS, I’m deeply grateful to collaborate with the dedicated and inspiring student leaders from across our board. The YSCPC brings together a diverse group of students united in enriching our YCDSB community, and it’s truly a privilege to represent your invaluable voices at the board table.
