St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS places 2nd in the World in UW Euclid Math Contest

The York Catholic District School Board congratulates the St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS Math Department and their math students for their 1st place ranking in the University of Waterloo Euclid Math Contest! The Richmond Hill team placed 1st in our zone, 1st in the province, 2nd in Canada, and 2nd in the World.

The University of Waterloo Euclid Mathematics Contest is an opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability. Over 19,000 students from 140 countries participate in the annual contest.

“This is a fantastic accomplishment and one that the students, math teachers, especially our Math Department Head, George Azar, worked on for many hours,” said James Fitzgerald Marrin, Vice-Principal, St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS. “Special congratulations go to Ellina Zhang, Thomas Yang, Fred Sun, and Yifan Zhou who had the highest scores for our school.”
