Note:  All students must apply for Specialty Program admission (application timeline below).

Upon acceptance into a specialty program:

• YCDSB students will automatically be registered into the school

• Non-YCDSB students must register for the school.  A unique school registration form will be provided to successful applicants with offer letters on December 22nd.   The standard registration form available for submission on November 1st does not apply to specialty program applicants.

Online registration available as of Nov. 1st for:

• YCDSB Grade 8 to 9 registration form – to be emailed to parents/guardians of YCDSB Grade 8 students on Nov. 1st

• Non-YCDSB student registration form – Secondary Students

Speciality Program Applications accepted:

Dec. 1 – 14, 2023

Speciality Program applications accepted at various schools from December 1 – 14th

* Please see dates specific to St. Robert Catholic High School on the St. Robert CHS school website as the International Baccalaureate entrance process commences prior to December 1, 2023.

Registration Deadline – YCDSB grade 8 students:

Dec. 13, 2023

Grade 9 registrations for YCDSB grade 8 students should be submitted by Dec. 13th for planning purposes. 

Specialty Program tests/auditions (if applicable):

Dec. 15 – 21, 2023

Tests/auditions assessed by Dec. 21st

* Please see dates specific to St. Robert Catholic High School on the St. Robert CHS school website as the International Baccalaureate entrance process commences prior to December 1, 2023.

Specialty Program offers/acceptances:

1. Offers – Dec. 22, 2023

2. Acceptance/Decline by Jan. 9, 2024

1. Offers sent electronically to parents/guardians on Dec. 22nd 

2. Applicants accept/decline offers by Jan. 9th

Grade 9 Course Selection:

January 15 – February 9, 2024

• YCDSB students – course selection via myBlueprint

• Non YCDSB students – course selection forms to be emailed to parents/guardians to complete

Registration Deadline – New students to YCDSB:

March 8, 2024

Registrations for Grade 9 students new to YCDSB should be submitted by March 8th for planning purposes.

Admission Criteria (9-12)

Subject to the provisions of the Education Act, all persons having the right of attendance shall be admitted to York Region Catholic secondary schools. Please review Admissions Policy 226B for detailed information.

The parent/guardian must provide the following original documents for each child to be considered for admission:

• Proof of Age

• Proof of Status in Canada

• If eligible, the parent or guardian shall designate separate school support and/or provide proof of separate school support

• Commitment to participate through the courts of Ontario (for those students under 18 years of age who are not residing with a parent)

• Proof of guardianship through the courts of Ontario (for those students under 18 years of age who are not residing with a parent)
