Who was Blessed Chiara Badano?
Blessed Chiara Badano, also known as Chiara “Luce” Badano, was a young Italian girl who lived in the 20th century. She was born in 1971 in a small town called Sassello, in Italy. Chiara grew up in a loving family and had a joyful and lively personality. She loved sports, especially tennis and enjoyed spending time with her friends.
At the age of 17, Chiara’s life took a challenging turn when she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. Despite facing tremendous pain and suffering, Chiara remained remarkably courageous and unwavering in her faith and trust in God.
During her illness, Chiara became an inspiration to because of her positive outlook and steady faith. She saw her suffering as an opportunity to unite her pain with the suffering of Jesus on the Cross, offering it for the well-being of others.
