Who was Pope St. John Paul II?

Pope St. John Paul II, born Karol Józef Wojtyła, was a significant figure in the Catholic Church and one of the most beloved popes in modern history. He was born in Poland in 1920 and experienced immense hardship during World War II, witnessing the atrocities of the Nazi occupation. Despite these challenging times, he remained devoted in his faith and dedicated himself to serving God.
