Oct. 13th Prayer

October 13, 2022 all day

We begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Today is the Feast Day of St. Edward.  He is the Patron of St. Edward CES in Markham.  St. Edward showed his devotion to God with patience, gentleness and generosity.

October is Canadian Islamic History Month.  This month recognizes the significant role that Muslim communities play in Canadian society and highlights their extraordinary contributions.  It is also a time to acknowledge the ongoing challenges and barriers that Muslim Canadians face, and to  continue working toward a compassionate, inclusive, and safer Canada for everyone.

Listen to these words from the book of the prophet Isaiah about God’s compassion for us.

Do not fear, for I have saved you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire
you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.   Isaiah 40

The Word of the Lord [Response: Thanks be to God]

Let us always remember that God is with us on our journeys
Let us always be compassionate with one another.OCGE 1g

Blessed are you among women and Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners now
