In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Today we celebrate the feast of Saints Simon and Jude.  They were followers of Jesus who tried to model the compassion Jesus taught them.

Earlier this month we celebrated the Memorial of Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher, who founded the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. She lived in Quebec in the 1800’s. She is known for compassion for the poor. Her loving, compassionate and respectful manner serves as a model of caring that we can try to apply to our own families and classmates. OCGE 6a

Loving God
We thank you for the gift of our sister, Blessed Marie-Rose
May we create places of love as she did
May we have compassion for the poor as she did
May we have the perseverance to overcome obstacles as she did
May we have the wisdom to live for others as she did.
Amen.

As we head into the weekend, let us reflect on this prayer about showing love to our families.
God of love,
Teach us to be more compassionate with our families.
Let us listen with your ears to their problems,
Let us walk with your feet to carry their burdens
Let us love them with your heart in their weakness and strength
Let us speak to them with your words to comfort them in their sorrows.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

We close with our prayer to Mary:
Hail Mary full of grace,
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women
and Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

We close in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
