We begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Welcome to October!  The virtue that we will be celebrating this month is compassion. Compassion lets us see things from another person’s point of view. Through compassion we know the pain of others’ suffering and then work to do something about it.

Through compassion we understand each other more deeply. Compassion is related to gratitude or thankfulness. Because of God’s compassion for us, we are gifted with the beauty of creation. May we bless one another with the gift of compassion today.

Saturday was the Feast of St. Theresa of Lisieux.  [Liz-e-uh] She was the youngest person to have been declared a Doctor of the Church and devoted her life to loving God.  Her love for nature earned her the title of “The Little Flower of Jesus.”  She is the patron of St. Theresa CHS in Richmond Hill. Listen to this quote from St. Theresa that connects to this month’s virtue of compassion:  “Remember that nothing is small in the eyes of God.  Do all that you do with love.”

Today is the Feast of Guardian Angels.   May they always be present to protect and bless us.  Guardian Angels CES is in Woodbridge.

October is Women’s History Month in Canada. We are thankful for the different gifts that women have shared with our world.

The response to the prayer is “We give thanks”

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
