Today is the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. On this day we remember the suffering and sadness that our Blessed Mother Mary felt during the passion and death of Jesus, her Son. Every year our Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15, the day after the feast of the Holy Cross to show the close connection between Jesus’ Passion and Mary’s Sorrows.
Let us close with our special prayer to Mary.
Hail Mary, Mother of Grace,
the Lord is with you,
Blessed are you among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
