Sept. 16th Prayer

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Today is the Feast of Saint Cyprian (sip-ree-ann) and Saint Cornelius.  Both saints were models of courage and flexibility in responding to God’s call to live the Gospel values.

Tomorrow is the Memorial of St Robert Bellarmine.  He is the patron of St Robert CHS in Thornhill.  St. Robert was a Jesuit writer who dedicated his life to hard work and helping those in need.

Let us listen to this reflection written by Diana, a former student at St. John Bosco Catholic School.

Dear God,
In today’s world, it is hard to think of all the good things we have.  We always think of all the bad things that happen to us.  War, terrorism, sickness; they are what we think of most.  Dear God, help us to think of all the good things that are going on like peace, love, joy, family and friends.  Help us to be thankful for these wonderful things.  And when we go through bad times, help us to be strong.  We need You God to guide us through our hard times.  Please watch over us through our hard times.  Please watch over us now and forever.
Amen.

Diana’s prayer asks that we look at how God can help us live out our values, dreams, and talents to improve our life and the lives of others.

Let us pray with the words that Jesus taught us:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

We close our prayer in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
