Sept 19th Prayer

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Today is the memorial of St. Emily de Rodat.  She is the patron of St. Emily CES in Woodbridge.  She was a model of courage because she took on the hard task of providing schooling for the poor children at a time when most young people couldn’t go to school.

Tomorrow is the Memorial of Saints Andrew Kim, Paul Chong and companions, the Korean Martyrs, who bravely died defending the Catholic Church.  Let us give thanks today for being able to celebrate our Catholic faith freely.

Listen to this prayer for courage:
Loving God, give us all the courage we need
to go the way you shepherd us,
that when you call we may go without fear.
If you ask us to come to you across the waters,
may we not be frightened as we go.
And if you bid us climb the hill, may we not notice that it is a struggle,
aware only of the happiness of your company.
You made us for yourself, that we should travel with you and see you at last
in your unveiled beauty where you are light and happiness and endless home.

Let us pray with the words that Jesus taught us:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

We close our prayers in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
