Sept. 27th Prayer

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Today is the Memorial of St Vincent de Paul.   St. Vincent de Paul loved the poor, and promoted and performed works of charity to help make our world free from pain, suffering and poverty.  He especially loved children.  From his example, we see the importance of expressing our Christian values through faith, hope, and love.

At our local parishes, we continue St. Vincent de Paul’s work of helping the poor by donating clothing and money to those in need. We can use our skills and talents to help the St Vincent de Paul Society and other service agencies to continue Jesus’ work on earth. OCGE 4f

Let us listen to “My Prayer for Service” by Samuel Taylor Coleridge

If there is light in the soul
There will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house,
There will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.
Amen.

Let us pray with the words that Jesus taught us:
Our Father,
Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done,  on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

We close in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
