Yesterday was International Literacy Day, a day celebrated by people all over the world to remind everyone of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights.

Listen to this teacher’s prayer about the new school year:
Loving God,
Thank you for bringing me my classroom of children to teach this year.  Help me guide them each day, into learning all your wonders.  Be with us as we share the adventures and challenges of learning and growing together.  Forgive us when we get frustrated and tired along the way, and show us how to stay focused on your mission for each of us.  In all we say, in all we do, in all we feel, we worship you.  Amen.

God of wisdom, the work of our school calls us to continue to have the courage to be in service to each other.
May we be a school that always tries to improve under the guidance of your love and wisdom. OCGE 4d.

Today we remember Father Francesco Bressani, the first Italian Jesuit priest and missionary to the Canadian Missions, who died on September 9, 1672.  He lived his life helping and forgiving others.  Today we ask God to give us the courage to be like Father Bressani and to help others in their time of need.OCGE4a  Father Bressani CHS  is in Woodbridge.
Let us pray with the words that Jesus taught us:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.  thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
