At the moment, any music lesson that requires students to share instruments should be avoided. This does not preclude assigning one instrument (drum/xylophone) per student for the duration of the class (i.e no sharing of instruments).
Yes, homework may be assigned for practice using a musical instrument at home. The emphasis is for students to leave their musical instrument at home and use them only at home.
At this point, the plan requires the music teacher to plan to move from class to class. Using a music room requires thorough cleaning every time after each class. This may not be practical as custodian provides priority to cleaning washrooms, high-touch areas etc.
In the case a teacher is away, an occasional (supply) teacher will be assigned to replace the permanent teacher.
