Current YCDSB Grade 8 Students


YCDSB encourages all students to explore secondary school offerings at our open house events.

Secondary Open House Information

The S.1B (YCDSB Grade 8 Students Transferring to Secondary School) form will be sent out via email to parents on October 20, 2025, in which students will indicate their secondary school selection(s)*.

Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Find your home school based on your home address

Step 2: Complete S.1B Form by December 3, 2025

The S.1B form will be sent out via email to parents on October 20, 2025. If you do not receive the link, contact your principal.
You may indicate interest in one or more specialty programs on this form.
You may indicate an interest for your child to attend a school other than their home school.

Step 3: Applying to Specialty Program(s) if applicable

Students interested in specialty programs at our Secondary schools are encouraged to visit our school directory and select the program(s) of interest. See the box below to learn more about specialty program offerings at each of our YCDSB high schools, along with requirements to apply to each program. Specific requirements of any specialty program must be met in order to be accepted into the program. Following submission of an application AT EACH SCHOOL and fulfillment of the application requirements, you will be notified regarding the outcome of your application.

Specialty Programs (Students entering Grade 9)

Step 4: Applying to a school other than your child’s home school

To request a secondary school other than your home school, indicate the preferred school on form TCH19A, and complete and submit the form to your preferred school via email (email address available on school’s website). Acceptance is subject to approval and not guaranteed. You will be notified regarding whether your request is approved.

NOTES

    • St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School is a capped school, consequently, a different registration procedure is required. Please visit the school website for information on the criteria and process of admission which is posted at the end of October.

    • St. Robert Catholic High School is also a capped school, for which registration is contingent on the school enrolment capacity being reached. Please submit an online registration and you will be informed if the capacity limit has been exceeded.

    • St. Augustine Catholic High School is a capped school which has reached capacity for the 2025-2026 school year. Students residing within the St. Augustine attendance area may register at St. Brother Andre Catholic High School via our online registration form.
