YCDSB Before & After School Care Partner Creates Unique Giving Opportunity for Students in Markham
For many YCDSB students, ‘Before & After School’ programs provide a safe, fun and creative place to be for extended hours around their school day.
In Markham, at The Village Child Care, staff and students also find time to learn by practicing active social responsibility, working hard hosting car washes and lemonade stands to raise funds for great causes. This year, together with the generosity and support of their amazing families,
The Village raised enough money to fill 29 backpacks with essentials and extras for kids in need across the GTA.
“I am so proud of our staff and the children and families every day, but when they accomplish something like this, it pushes us over the moon with pride,” said Jackie MacDonald-Bartkiw, Executive Director of The Village Children’s Programs
In this effort, The Village teamed up with the amazing volunteer team at St. Patrick Parish in Markham, who distributed the back packs, filled with school supplies, mits, hats and more.
