Twitter Break Returns for Season Two

Twitter Break is back for its 2nd season!  Twitter break is a monthly YouTube broadcast hosted by our Director, Domenic Scuglia, who is joined by different guest co-hosts!  Each episode is about 5-7 minutes, and the content varies based on the exciting events happening in our schools and the York Catholic community.

This first episode is co-hosted by Anthea Peta-Dragos, our Senior Student Trustee.  She and Director Dom:

  • Discuss their excitement about the energy and positivity felt across the Board as staff and students return to a more typical school year after the long pandemic.  They share powerful messages of hope and anticipation for a return to the school year.  Anthea speaks of high enthusiasm and interest from students to sign up and get involved in the co-curricular activities, clubs and teams schools offer.
  • They also highlight the Catholic Virtue of Courage, which students celebrated through the YCDSB’s involvement in numerous Terry Fox runs/walks for cancer research.
  • Another highlight was the launch of a STREAM Focus program at St. Augustine CHS.
  • In addition, Anthea shares a tweet about an Every Child Matters fundraiser and how students and board staff participated in Orange Shirt Day on Sept. 30th, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Director Dom reflected on our Catholic schools’ uniqueness as he shared tweets about our schools learning about their Patron Saints and living our faith through celebrating the Eucharist to begin the year.

As you can see, there is always a lot to celebrate at YCDSB.  We encourage you to watch Twitter Break and remember when you are tweeting to tag @ycdsb @DomenicScuglia or #Director Dom to get our attention and provide content for future episodes.
