Good afternoon
At the January 27, 2026 YCDSB Regular Board meeting, the final report for the Queensville Boundary Review was presented to the Board of Trustees. A link to the report can be found here. At the meeting, the Board of Trustees passed the following motion:
THAT the Board approve Boundary Option #1 as the attendance boundary for the unnamed Queensville Catholic elementary school, effective upon opening (September, 2027).

Secondary:
There are no changes to the secondary boundary alignment as part of the Queensville Boundary Review.
Grandparenting:
As outlined in the staff report, there are no grandparenting provisions identified in the Boundary Review Committee’s recommendations. At the January 27th meeting, Trustees directed staff to investigate the implications of grandparenting students who will be in Grade 8 for the 2027-28 school year and to report back to the Board at a future meeting.
Next Steps:
School Naming:
A school naming committee consisting of Trustees, the school principal (if appointed), parish representatives, school superintendent and members of the new school community will be formed to evaluate options in accordance with Board Policy.
Principal Appointment:
A founding principal will be appointed by YCDSB Administration well in advance of the opening of the new school to ensure a smooth transition for students.
