April is Earth Month. This year, April 22, 2020 also marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Students and staff across York Catholic celebrated our planet earth by promoting ways to protect it through live-demonstrations, artwork, cleaning up their neighbourhood and more.

Guardian Angels CES
Students at Guardian Angels CES in Woodbridge demonstrated their tips on how to protect planet Earth, from conserving water as we brush our teeth, to recycling and more!
Light of Christ CES
Students at Light of Christ CES in Aurora discussed the importance of the ocean, headed outdoors to do a natural material hunt and sort their findings. They then turned their treasures into a creative piece!
Two students and siblings, Lucas and Isabella, missed their school so much, they created a sign and posted it on their school for their friends to see.
Grade 2 student, Hunter S., from Our Lady of Grace CES in Aurora, wrote his very own story on how Hunter, Filip and Lucas joined together to save the world from COVID-19. Spoiler alert: they all live happily ever after!
Prince of Peace CES
Students at Prince of Peace CES in Keswick, celebrated Earth Month by using recycled materials to create a wreath, planet, ship, bouquet and even a rocketship!
St. Elizabeth Seton CES students in Newmarket showcased their Earth Month creations, from artwork, to building a birdfeeder, enjoying a hike, clearing garbage from their neighbourhood, planting in their garden and more!
Students at St. Gregory the Great CA in Woodbridge, submitted their Earth Day poster to the City of Vaughan to raise awareness for Earth Day initiatives.

St. Joseph the Worker CES students in Thornhill, created wanted posters for endangered plants and species.
