Happy Family Day Weekend

A Family Day Message

As we enter the Family Day weekend, we would like to take this opportunity to recognize all the families of the York Catholic District School Board. When reflecting on family, Pope Francis said:

Love is shown by little things, by attention to small daily signs which make us feel at home. Faith grows when it is lived and shaped by love. That is why our families, our homes, are true domestic churches. They are the right place for faith to become life, and life to grow in faith.

One of the defining features of Catholic education is the recognition that learning must have connections beyond the classroom. Catholic education understands that school communities can only be strengthened by the assistance of parishes and families.

As a school board, we are grateful for all your daily signs of love that may include helping your child get to school every day, volunteering in their class, helping with homework, donating to a charitable drive, or showing up for a school event (just to name a few).

All the things you do make our schools loving places for everyone, and they pass the faith onto another generation. Thank you for everything you do to make the York Catholic District School Board a great place!

On this Family Day weekend, we hope that you get to spend some special time with your loved ones. Please know that we are praying for your family.
