Principal Edward Lavor Wins Leadership Award

The entire York Catholic District School Board community congratulates Edward Lavor, Principal of Father Bressani Catholic High School, on winning the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario’s Outstanding School/Community Leadership Award.

To receive the award, the recipient must be nominated by a fellow Principal. Ed is noted for creating cohesion, inclusivity, fairness, creativity, academic excellence and a true sense of family in every school where he has served.

“It has been an absolute honour and privilege to be nominated for such a prestigious award,” said Ed. “I thank my fellow administrators, whose guidance and friendship are such key ingredients to success in the very demanding (yet fulfilling!) career.”

Ed started his career with the Toronto Catholic District School Board as a teacher of mathematics, eventually becoming Head of the Department at Bishop Allen Academy. He joined the York Catholic DSB in 2008 as a Vice Principal at St. Robert CHS, and  later moved to St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS. In 2012, Ed joined Holy Cross Catholic Academy as a Vice Principal, becoming Principal of the school in 2017. He stayed at Holy Cross until the current school year, moving to Father Bressani CHS.

“I thank, above all, my family, for their unwavering care, support, and love. They are my strength and joy, in good times and in bad,” said Ed. “I humbly share this award with all who have allowed me to be a small part of their journey in education and daily lives. God bless.”

 Congratulations, Ed!
