World Mental Health Day

Dear Families and Students of the York Catholic District School Board,

As a Catholic learning community, it is important for us to highlight World Mental Health Day, which is happening today, Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

On World Mental Health Day, the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) wants you to know that your mental health matters. The YCDSB aims to foster an environment where people can have supportive conversations about their well-being and where we challenge the stigma of mental health.

It is encouraging to see the growing awareness in our society that mental health is just as important as physical health. There is always more to learn in our journey to better understand mental health. If you are looking to learn more, the YCDSB Mental Health Team is hosting a parent engagement night called “Emotional Health in our Kids with Hannah Beach” on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at the Catholic Education Centre (click here to learn more and to register).

A flyer is attached below with information on how students can access mental health services through the YCDSB.

The YCDSB believes in supporting the mental health of our community members, that is why our new Multi-Year Strategic Plan makes a strategic commitment to promote and nurture the well-being of all members of the YCDSB (click here for more information).

If you are struggling with your mental health, please know that you are loved and that people will help you.

Yours in Christ,

Frank Alexander Domenic Scuglia
