Kindergarten Assessing and Reporting

Kindergarten is a two-year program, designed to help children adjust to the world of school.

Young children show their understanding by doing, showing, and telling. Teachers observe, listen, and ask questions about what the children are doing, in order to assess their learning.

Communication between parents/guardians and teachers is very important during the early years.

Parents/Guardians and/or teachers may ask for a meeting to discuss their child’s progress.

There are three reporting times in each school year:

  • November: Communication of Learning: Initial Observations, Parent and Guardian Interviews
  • January: Communication of Learning: Term One (interviews on request by teacher or parent/guardian)
  • June: Communication of Learning: Term Two
