The York Catholic District School Board is a leader in Ontario’s publicly funded education system. Our guiding principle is Catholic Education: nurturing our students in a Christ-centered environment that provides an exemplary education to every student.
The YCDSB recently released our new Multi-Year Strategic Plan, which will guide our board through the 2027-2028 school year. In that plan, the YCDSB committed to promoting: the Catholic faith; equity and inclusion; student achievement; and well-being.
The YCDSB strives to be the best place for every student to learn and grow in all aspects of their life. I hope this website will help you learn about the amazing things that are happening in the YCDSB.

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day.
As a school board, we will come together in celebration on Friday, June 20, to honour the rich cultures, traditions and invaluable contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Canada.
At the York Catholic District School Board, we remain committed to walking together in truth, reconciliation and mutual respect. May this occasion inspire all members of our Catholic school communities to listen with open hearts, learn with humility and deepen our understanding of Indigenous histories and worldviews.

Walk Smart, Walk Safe This Summer!
As we head into the final stretch of the school year and enjoy the warmer weather, many students are walking, biking and rolling to school. Let’s stay safe out there!
Here are some safety tips while walking:
Stay on the sidewalk. If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic, on the shoulder far from the road.
Watch for cars backing out of driveways.
Stop, Look and Listen before crossing the road.
Look both ways when crossing the street and use crosswalks where possible.
Stand back on the sidewalk until you are ready to cross.
Don’t use electronic devices while walking (phones, iPads, games, headphones).
Obey crossing guards and signs posted.
Be visible, be alert, be aware of your surroundings.
Stay safe! Ride, walk and roll safe!
Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe on your travels!

E-Bike Smart, E-Bike Safe This Summer!
As more people ride e-bikes in our communities, it’s important to follow the rules and ride responsibly. According to the Highway Traffic Act:
You must be at least 16 years old to ride an e-bike
You must wear a helmet at all times - no exceptions!
E-bikes are a fun and efficient way to travel, but safety always comes first.
Let’s keep our roads safe - whether you ride, walk or roll!

Ride Smart, Ride Safe This Summer!
As students enjoy biking to and from school in the warmer weather, it’s important to stay safe while cycling in our communities. Let’s keep safety rolling!
Wear a properly fitted helmet—it’s the law for riders under 18!
Do a quick check: Air, Brakes, Chain before each ride
Make sure your bike has a bell, front white light/reflector & rear red light/reflector
Cross at crosswalks and walk your bike when crossing roads
Be alert for cars backing out of driveways or turning at intersections
Whether you're riding, walking or rolling - let’s stay safe and enjoy the journey!
