The York Catholic District School Board is a leader in Ontario’s publicly funded education system. Our guiding principle is Catholic Education: nurturing our students in a Christ-centered environment that provides an exemplary education to every student.
The YCDSB recently released our new Multi-Year Strategic Plan, which will guide our board through the 2027-2028 school year. In that plan, the YCDSB committed to promoting: the Catholic faith; equity and inclusion; student achievement; and well-being.

The York Catholic District School Board is pleased to offer its summer Additional Qualification (AQ) courses throughout the year.
Delivered synchronously and asynchronously online over six weeks, our accredited courses are recognized by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) and designed to support professional learning at every stage of your teaching career.

Aurora Shows Up for One of Our Own!
It was amazing to see many local residents come together to support Indiana Pacers player, Andrew Nembhard, a proud St. Jerome CES graduate and 2023 YCDSB Distinguished Alumni!
The Town of Aurora is inviting the community to come out in full force and cheer loudly for Andrew and the Indiana Pacers throughout the NBA Finals.

St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS has unveiled a stunning student-created masterpiece, and it’s turning heads and hearts!
Inspired by the words of Pope Francis and the theme of hope, Grade 12 artist Isabella K. poured her faith and talent into "St. Maximilian Kolbe’s Jubilee Doors."
Featuring portraits of Jesus, Mary, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and Fr. Lucjan Krolikowski, this artwork serves as a powerful reminder of the light that faith can bring.

At last week’s Board meeting, the York Catholic District School Board proudly presented a cheque for $5,738.45 to Vaughan in Motion for Cancer Care, raised through the generous efforts of the YCDSB's elementary schools in Vaughan and Richmond Hill.
This donation will support the Medical Surgical Inpatient Unit at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, a state-of-the-art space designed to help cancer patients recover faster and return home sooner.
Vaughan in Motion is a 100% volunteer-run charity committed to helping those battling cancer, and we are honoured to contribute to their mission of compassion and care.
Thank you to all the students, staff and families who made this possible. Together, we are living our faith through action and making a difference.

Honouring Excellence in Skilled Trades & Technology!
At our recent Board meeting, we proudly recognized the many students, staff and families whose outstanding contributions have strengthened our Catholic school communities.
A special congratulations to our incredible YCDSB students who captured gold, silver and bronze medals at the Ontario Skills Competition, Canada’s largest showcase of skilled trades and technology talent!
Held at the Toronto Congress Centre, this dynamic event brought together thousands of competitors over two and a half exciting days. Our students rose to the occasion, demonstrating remarkable knowledge, perseverance and grace under pressure.
These young leaders excelled in diverse career pathway skills - from carpentry and coding to culinary arts and beyond. Yet, their greatest accomplishment was not the medals themselves, but how they used the gifts God gave them to build a better world through meaningful work.
As St. Paul writes in his Letter to the Colossians: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
Our medalists have done just that, working with heart, honour and faith.
Congratulations to all! You’ve made the YCDSB community incredibly proud.
